Yet, hardware is not the only driver of changes, as trends like Indie gaming, free-to-play games, crypto gaming, and e-sports are changing the gaming landscape quickly.  A study to find Britain’s most popular and searched games found the Brits searched “free games” 98,000 times a month on average, according to the findings of the study carried out by AskGamblers.com and shared with Finbold on October 11. Roblox (RBLX) tops the list with a 2.5 million monthly search volume and gross profits of $1.4 billion in 2021 alone. The game is being played by 2.5 million users monthly, with 1.5 million of those users being under the age of 18, making it one of the most popular games in that demographics ever.  Candy Crush Saga came in at number 2, with 50,000 monthly searches and $1.2 billion in gross profits in 2021. Further, 50% of the demographics of this addictive game fall between the range of 20 to 40 years old.  Pokemon Go landed in third place with 49,000 monthly searches and an $887 million in gross profits. In this game, young men ages between 21 and 30 are using their mobile phones to capture virtual pokemon strewn across the city, utilizing AR technology built into the phones.

Strength of mobile gaming

A spokesperson from AskGamblers.com highlighted that the study showed the strength of mobile gaming in the UK.  With improvements in graphics and cheaper and better technology coming to markets, gaming will remain popular, where new gaming modes and play-to-earn types of games could flourish and take the gaming world by storm.    Buy stocks now with Interactive Brokers – the most advanced investment platform Disclaimer: The content on this site should not be considered investment advice.
