Revolut noted that the ‘Learn & Earn’ platform has been utilized by learners from at least 32 countries globally, Finextra reported on August 11. According to the bank, there has been interest in learning about crypto despite the widespread market correction across 2022. Notably, Revolut launched the feature enabling users to earn crypto rewards while learning about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology on the financial app. Additionally, the platform encompasses quizzes that users have to pass.
Rewards for completing courses
While launching the courses in July, Revolut indicated that customers can earn up to $15 for completing the learning materials. The platform was launched in partnership with the Web3 Foundation of multichain network Polkadot, with rewards distributed in DOT tokens. Revolut began with two short courses covering basic concepts of cryptocurrencies and the underlying blockchain technology. Additionally, learners can engage with content on the differences between cryptocurrency and fiat currency alongside the risks that come with the crypto market. The neobank added that despite the market correction, crypto transactions in the UK grew by over 20% compared to a year ago.
Revolut to expand crypto business
Since unveiling cryptocurrency services, the company has been working towards making inroads in different global markets. In this line, Revolut is planning to expand its crypto workforce by 20% across Europe, the UK, and the United States over the next six months. The hiring plan compliments Revolut’s bullish stand on cryptocurrencies considering that most businesses have been impacted by the market sell-off. For instance, crypto exchange Coinbase imposed a hiring freeze and opted to lay off a section of its workforce in reaction to the market crash. Elsewhere, crypto lending platforms Celsius and Voyager Digital have filed for bankruptcy following the market correction.
